Uniting the Church

"I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me." (John 17:21)

In John 17 Jesus prayed a prayer that is yet to be answered.   He prayed that we "would be one."  That is an amazing prayer and promise for us, a promise that has been waiting for a people who will believe it is possible.

Sadly much of the history of the Church, starting particularly from the book of Acts on, includes ongoing division and strife.   As we know from 1 Corinthians 12:20, "there are many members, but one body."  And if one part of the body should say to the other, "we have no need of you," it ceases to function as a body should.  Yet even today, people still isolate themselves and do their own thing.  As a result of this, they move from a living relationship with God and to being disconnected and ineffectual in sharing any true hope with the world. However, we believe that God is doing something amazing in our day.  He is bringing the family of God back into closer relationship.

Eagles' Wings is blessed to be one of the ministries God is using to bring believers together across race, culture, background or specific doctrinal walls that have been built up over time and serve to insulate instead of encouraging cooperation.

Over the years, Robert and the team have ministered in many different streams of the Body of Christ from the conservative and more traditional main-line part of the Church to the more expressive and demonstrative charismatic and independent congregations.  Our heart is to be a blessing wherever we are, and to help foster deeper partnership between congregations in the regions where we minister.

Unity is not the end

As great as unity is, it is not the end.  Jesus prayed that we would be one, "that the world might believe."   We call this "functional unity," that is - unified people doing something together that honors God and glorifies Him in their region.  This is the type of unity and compassionate action that can change the world.

Where do we start?

Eagles' Wings, in both our traveling itinerant ministry and our conferences and events, seeks to equip and strengthen the Body and help facilitate greater "functional unity."

Through a host of resources, including regional unity gatherings held in key cities around the country, Eagles' Wings is bringing together the Body of Christ as has not been seen before in our generation.  People from all walks of life, who previously did not even recognize each other's existence, are coming together in one focus, one voice, and one body to act, speak, worship, and intercede on
behalf of the church in regions across America.

Through leadership luncheons and retreats, like the KAIROS Leadership Summit, we are bringing leaders together, across denominational boundaries, to unite with one voice, with one purpose, and with one ministry to God and to His people.  We are equipping, training, and connecting leaders and ministries to be not churches in America, but the church in America and around the world.

We invite you to discover more of the events and services that Eagles' Wings hosts, and hope to see you soon at one of them.  Visit our upcoming events page to find an event in your area.

Together, may we see the fulfillment of Jesus' prayer in our generation!
